Chances are you own a lot of gadgets. And at some point they’re going to run out of juice and need to be plugged into a wall outlet. Now, no one likes having a bunch of chargers and adapters lying around all over the place, so what if there was one place for all of your devices to recharge? Bluelounge has an extremely simple answer, the Refresh.
- Refresh is a personal or shared charging station for three or more devices
- 2 iPod / iPhone connectors
- 1 Mini USB, 1 Micro USB, 2 USB socket
- 6 Built-in Connectors Universal Connectors for hundreds of devices (1838 to date)
The unit we received was black so the body of the Refresh was finished in glossy black while the platform was of a sleek matte black. In terms of size, you could probably fit three iPhones laterally on the surface. The trapezoidal shape allows you to glance down at the tilted surface and monitor what’s going on. Inside, you’ll find two iPod/iPhone cables, two micro USB cables, as well as two USB ports for you to add your own chargers. Of course, the whole point of the Refresh is to eliminate clutter so once you’re done picking out your plugs, simply plop on the matte plastic charging platform to conceal all the cables. Held in place by two small magnets, you’ll be able to easily pull off the platform and swap connections.
In actual everyday use, we actually found the Refresh to be pretty convenient. Having one platform to charge all of our gadgets eliminated clutter and the need to have a bunch of chargers lying around for all of our gadgets. Obviously, we plopped as many devices as we could at once and the Refresh had no trouble providing power to each and every one of them.
Let’s take a look at the Refresh’s competition. There are iPod/iPhone docks out there that let you charge multiple devices at once but those instantly leave out users who don’t own Apple products. There’s the Powermat, which uses bulky inductive charging cases, but cases aren’t for everyone. Then along comes the Refresh. There’s support for tons of gadgets and you get to choose the ports you want to use. Problem solved.
- Great design
- Eliminates clutter
- Support for many devices
- A little expensive
