Verizon's $350 Early Termination Fee is now in place

Please, for the love of God, do not go to a Verizon store drunk. Remember the reasonable service and their, "ok", termination fee? Verizon just became a considerably more mind numbing affair thanks to a chunky boost of its contract early termination fee. They raised it from the reasonable $175 to an unreasonable $350. This rumor has been floating around and now, sadly, it is confirmed as of yesterday.

A lucky few who bought an "advanced device" prior to the 14th is in the clear, but the rest of you are screwed (that is if you plan to cancel early). They throw you a bone by reducing the ETF by a stout $10 for every month of the contract you successfully hurdle, but that still leaves you with a $120 ETF 23 months into a 24-month deal. Again, don't drink before deciding on switching to Verizon.
