Apple launches new iMac - 2.8 GHz Core i7, 27" screen | more specs

Apple has always been excellent at making stuff that we thought was impossible to do, and then taking it, and blowing our minds even more. The new iMac is a great example of Apple's design expertise and esthetic taste. They took something that was already the best looking desktop PC and turned it into a better looking, more powerful monster.

Gone is the 20" model and introduced in its place is a slightly bigger 21.5 inch model which has more processing capabilities, and includes the same great look as the next model, a giant 27" behemoth! This thing is bigger than the TV you have in your bedroom. We cannot wait to see one of these close up.

Apple has also thrown in more powerful parts. See more after the break.

    Proccessor

The processors on the iMac have always been amazing considering the form factor and size of the machines. We still don't know how they stay at safe temperatures, but apple did it again! They have crammed a whopping 3.33 GHz CPU in a 21.5" iMac and in the 27" they have loaded a intense 2.8Ghz Quad Core i7.

    Video Cards

The iMac has always been victim to using under powered video cards, like the 9400M and lower end cards. Now the iMac's have a new level of GPU power.

Sadly, there is no Bluray drive like some of the rumors suggested.

The new iMac starts at $1,199, which is a little on the pricey side but hey, thats Apple right? There is 3 other models, among others when you start customizing.
